Government Degree College Allochibagh, Srinagar was established in the year 2011. Temporarily housed in two rented buildings; the college has carved an image of its own in academic and social circles. The land for the construction of college has already been identified & acquired by the Govt.

This College is one of the developing co-education colleges in the south Kashmir. It is located at Allochibagh which is at a distance of nearly 40 kilometers from district headquarter Srinagar. It is one of the remote areas of the state. Students from various plain & hilly localities throng to this college where they find fresh and invigorating environment free from pollution and highly conducive to teaching-learning process. Affiliated to the University of Kashmir, the College recorded excellent results in recent annual UG examinations.

The College is ever vigilant to grab every opportunity whereby new and novel facilities will be procured and consequently made available to the student community. At present the college offers courses under B.A General & B.A with Computer Applications only. However the Higher Education Department has recently introduced new subjects in the college. These are Functional English, English literature, Computer Applications, Statistics, History, Kashmiri & Mathematics.
